The setup investment
Vello charges £4,000 total: £2,000 to begin and £2,000 before handover. This covers the agreed research, supplier outreach, branding, Shopify build, plans, documentation and handover, followed by three months of aftercare.
The signed scope identifies what is included, the account responsibilities and any third-party charges. An optional £400 budget can fund advertising activated before handover; this goes to ads, not an additional Vello management fee.
Plan the monthly costs
Allow for your ecommerce platform, domain renewal, any paid apps, accounting, appropriate insurance and marketing. Payment processing and product fulfilment normally vary with orders. Check current provider prices before approving a budget.
Optional ongoing Vello support is £500 per month for the agreed consultancy and website-support scope. It is separate from platform costs and advertising spend.
Dropshipping still needs working capital
Our standard approach normally avoids buying bulk stock upfront. However, a supplier may require payment for an order before your payment processor releases the customer’s money.
Set aside funds for fulfilment timing, refunds, disputes and quieter periods. If you choose to buy stock, include inventory, storage and the risk of unsold products. No upfront bulk inventory does not mean no cash requirement.
Know the costs before you commit
The opportunity Vello proposes comes with an explanation of the expected setup and running costs and the key assumptions. You can ask questions and assess the direction before approving the agreed build.
Your actual costs and tax position depend on the business and your circumstances. Our written scope sets out Vello’s deliverables; seek specialist advice where needed.
General information, not a forecast or personalised financial, tax or legal advice. Research reduces uncertainty; it does not remove business risk. Confirm your individual position with an appropriate professional where needed.
